What is VCCS?

VCCS is a built-in communication tool in Euroscope that permits two-way communication between controllers. It is arguably simpler than searching for who is on a position, finding them on Teamspeak and moving channels. Instead, simply click the position you wish to coordinate with and initiate a phone call.

Upon receiving a call, VCCS will sound a low pitched beep for 2 seconds and will repeat until the call is either answered or terminated.

How do I access and use VCCS?

Accessing VCCS

You can access VCCS in two ways. Either:

  • Through the other set menu
  • Right clicking the mini controller which by default is at the top of your screen.

Using VCCS

Below is an image of the VCCS panel. This section will walk you through exactly how it works. VCCS Dialogue

And here is the mini controller: VCCS Mini Controller

You can set your PTT in settings or in the Configurator.exe file included in the controller pack (Post AIRAC 08/25). When manually setting your PTT, you should select the 'G2G PTT'.

VCCS Dialogue

  • A red box surrounding a position means they are not online
  • A yellow box surrounding a position means that they are online, but not using the same version of Euroscope. This is not demonstrated in the screenshot above.
  • A green box surrounding a position means that they are online, and you can communicate with them.
  • A blue box means that VCCS does not recognise the position. To call that position, right click them in your controller list, and press "call on VCCS"

In the above scerenshot, all the positions are red as the Euroscope was not connected to the network at the time.

Communicating with other controllers

Providing that the position you wish to communicate with has a green box surrounding it, you are able to call them. To do this, simply click the position. This will call them on 'Line 1', 'Line 2' is currently not implemented.

When you call someone, their position will flash white until they answer. When they do, it will be a solid white.

When someone calls you, click the flashing white box in either the enlarged panel OR the mini panel.

VCCS Panel 2

As in the screenshot above, when you the person you called holds their PTT, the white box turns red. When you speak, it will be orange. Press the red 'End' button to terminate the call.
