Text Aliases

Purpose

Text aliases are included in the UK controller pack to enable quick text communication. They are useful either when controlling text pilots, or when needing to send standard messages as text.

Usage

To use the aliases, select the aircraft, then type in the message bar the key phrase with the . e.g. .llcpt then press space and the alias will expand to the full message. Then press return/enter to send it in the usual way. The automatic aliases will be populated in the message bar for text (/t) pilots, and can be sent immediately after the tag has been edited. E.g. assign the level in the tag, then press return/enter.

Custom Aliases

It is possible to add your own custom aliases to the file in your controller pack (located at UK/Data/Alias/AC_Alias.txt) should you wish to do so. Follow the formatting of the existing ones. However, remember these additions will be overwritten when you update your controller pack. Any additions that would be useful to the wider community should be raised as additions to the pack file, which is an open source project on GitHub.
