EuroScope Tricks

There are various EuroScope things that people may not know, below is a list of various things that you may not have known.
With thanks to the controllers who have shared these.

Command Line and Chat

Ctrl+Up inserts the last line of text chat into command line.

Shift+Up inserts the last text you entered into the command line.

Right clicking on a text chat or frequency will mark all messages as read.

.inf fetches you details about the user client. You can use this to confirm your suspicions of an XPlane user moving really slowly, and then send the .xplane alias.

You can use F1+C instead of .chat.

.ff [waypoint] displays a fix on screen.

Flight Plans

ASEL and +, then F1+A or .am, then numpad + to create a flight plan.

Right click on an aircraft in a list to show the route line.

Shift+F6 clears all route lines.

Tags

If General Settings -> Misc Options -> 'Use hovering TAG for key commands' is ticked, hover over the tag and press Shift+F4 to drop the tag.

Alternately, ASEL, Shift+F4, and numpad +, to drop the tag.

The same applies with the use of F3 to assume a tag.

F1+P, or .point then a controller ID followed by ASEL will point out the aircraft to the specified controller ID.

F1+D, then ASEL 2 aircraft, will show a distance marker between the two.

F1+F or .find will find an aircraft for you.

Left/right click on an aircraft tag will freeze its position.

ASEL and Home will send a .contactme to the pilot.

Scratchpad

Ins clears the scratchpad

Note

Per the Scratchpad Policy, the scratchpad is to be cleared prior to handoff to the relevant departure controller or UNICOM.

METAR

F2 then an airport's ICAO code will fetch the METAR for the specified airport in the top left METAR box.

Active Runway Dialogue

Click on an entry, type the ICAO code, and it will jump to the specified airport.

Alternative ownership

Alternative ownership allows for mentors or observers to have the the same view 'lit up' or 'owned' as the controller that they are observing. Please refer to the Using Alternative Ownership guide.

Controller Identifiers

Controller identifiers are those that appear to the left of the controller identifier in the controllers list, where the .ese file recognises the format and frequency of that callsign.

You can use controller identifiers and the command line to initiate a handoff. To do this, press F4 (or enter .qx into the command line), type the controller identifier, and press the ASEL key to select an aircraft (or click on a tag).

When using an alias that enters controller details, you can enter the controller identifier, and then press tab before sending the message.

Adjacent Departure Airports

On London or Scottish sectors, including as an observer through Alternative Ownership, you can choose to show departures from adjacent airports by means of a special runway 00 at '000A Show adjacent departure airports' in the Runway Selector dialogue.

Option 1: With a selected runway 00 on the right hand side, (under DEP or ARR or both), the departure list will show departures from all airports within the sector or adjacent sectors.

Option 2: With no runway 00 selected, the departure list will only show departures from airports for which you have top down responsibility for tower services.
