TI-26-008 - Manchester - PC Northeast Splitting Procedures

Instruction ID TI-26-008
Valid 2026-07-28
Applicable To PC North & top-down airfields
Mandatory Mandatory

Introduction

For the "A Turkish Delight" event, a temporary arrangement is made to allow for the opening of PC North only.

Since the position uses a non-standard callsign (MAN-N_CTR), it will not be recognised by VATSIM online maps. As such, EGNM traffic may need to be directed to the correct frequency when the position is open.

Positions

This temporary instruction permits the opening of MAN-N_CTR, only when MAN_E_CTR is also online.

When it is open, the Northeast sector is split between the two controllers:

  • The real-world PC North sector is owned by MAN-N_CTR on 135.715 MHz.
  • The remaining PC East sector is owned by MAN_E_CTR on 133.800 MHz with a reduced Area of Responsibility.

Warning

MAN-N_CTR and MAN_NE_CTR both use 135.715 MHz and therefore must never be opened simultaneously.

Positions

Position Callsign Frequency Coordination Name Top Down
PC East MAN_E_CTR 133.800 PC East PC Northeast & PC Southeast
PC Northeast MAN_NE_CTR 135.715 PC Northeast EGNM, EGNJ, EGNT, EGNV
PC North Only MAN-N_CTR 135.715 PC North EGNM only

PC North Notes

  1. The dash (-) in MAN-N_CTR is required to enable correct sector ownership.
  2. MAN-N_CTR cannot be opened simultaneously with MAN_NE_CTR.
  3. VATSIM online maps will not recognise MAN-N_CTR, therefore EGNM traffic may require manual direction.

Info

There is no Agreed Levels Diagram for this split. Refer to the standing agreements below.

Traffic following these agreements is RFT and RFC/D as per normal standing agreement procedures.

Other Sectors

Other standing agreements into and out of the PC North sector remain unchanged and are as published within the PC East ALD.

EGGP / EGNR Inbounds

Controllers should be aware that there is no standing agreement for EGGP or EGNR arrivals via GASKO / POL / GOLES between PC North and PC West.

Individual coordination is therefore required.

Coordination with Adjacent Units

Adjacent ACCs / Sectors

Whenever PC North is opened with the non-standard callsign, the controller (or PC Coordinator) must notify:

  • Scottish ACC (Talla / Galloway)
  • PC Southeast
  • PC West

Airfields

Affected APC and ADC units should also be informed whenever MAN-N_CTR is opened.

Manchester

Altered departure handoff orders:

  • POL / DESIG (05s)
PC North Only (135.715) → PC Northeast (135.715) → PC East

  • POL / SONEX (23s)
PC North Only (135.715) → PC Northeast (135.715) → PC East

PC North is responsible for arrivals via ROSUN.

Leeds

Whenever PC North is open, all coordination and handoffs with Leeds shall be carried out with MAN-N_CTR.

Newcastle, Teesside and Humberside

Unlike the normal MAN_NE_CTR position, MAN-N_CTR does not provide top-down control for these airfields.

Coordination should therefore take place with the controller operating MAN_E_CTR.
