ADC | RAF Gibraltar (LXGB)¶
Runway Restrictions¶
All Air Systems must use the turning circles at either end of the runway to perform turns following back-track. Turns are not permitted on the runway.
Parking¶
Civil Air Systems are to park on the Civil Apron on the north-side of the airfield.
Military Air Systems are to park on the South Apron.
The North Apron may be used for overflow parking for both Civil and Military Air Systems.
IFR Departures¶
Air Systems departing IFR shall be coordinated by TWR with Sevilla ACC to obtain an enroute ATC clearance. Sevilla ACC shall provide:
- ATC route clearance
- SSR code
- Any other information that may affect the departing Air System.
Outbound IFR Air Systems shall route initially via either PIMOS
or LINTO
.
Departure Releases¶
TWR shall obtain a release from RAD for all departures; RAD will specify after departure instructions with the release. Additionally, for all IFR departures RAD shall obtain a release from Sevilla ACC. Releases expire after 3 minutes.
TWR shall pass the after departure instructions and receive a correct read back before issuing take-off clearance.
Radiotelephony
SHT493U, after departure, left turn visually around Gibraltar on track PIMOS, climb flight level 80.
It is the responsibility of RAD to provide releases that ensure separation between departing Air Systems (see Approach Control – Outbound Procedures). In the absence of a controller providing radar services Air Systems may depart with a 2-minute departure interval, reduced to 1-minute when the initial route diverges by 45° or greater.
Wake turbulence separation is to be applied in accordance with MATS Part 1 for Civil Air Systems and in accordance with the VATSIM UK Military ATC Manual and RA3277 for Military Air Systems.
Departure Hand-off Order¶
All departing Air Systems are to be transferred to RAD once aerodrome conflictions are resolved, unless otherwise notified by RAD.
In the absence of RAD, departures shall be transferred to Sevilla ACC.
