Speed Separation Notes
- The basic separation interval (2 minutes) is applied between types in the same group (or where the following aircraft is one group slower)
- An additional 1 minute is added for each successive group when the following aircraft is faster (where the resulting timed interval is excessive, the controller may coordinate an early release)
- The basic interval may be reduced by 1 minute when the following aircraft is two or more groups slower (however, the controller must account for wake turbulence separation)
- Types not in the speed table (and the subsequent aircraft) are subject to release from the appropriate radar controller.

VFR Procedures¶
Standard circuit clearance (not mandatory but advised):
Runway | Direction | Altitude |
---|---|---|
26L | Left hand | 1500 ft |
08R | Right hand | 1500 ft |
All VFR zone exit clearances shall be coordinated with FIN by GMP.

Release Conditions
Release Conditions¶
TCSW will transfer KK inbounds at MSL+1, or the next level available. Traffic at or above FL120 will be retained by TC.
Traffic is RFD to MSL on transfer of communication. Traffic must not descend below MSL until within the Gatwick RMA.
Traffic may be vectored when:
Runway | Condition |
---|---|
26L/R | Once it is east of the OCK-SHM line, and south of the 26L/R exteneded centerline. After descent has commenced, traffic must remain east of the OCK-SHM line. |
08R/L | Once it is east of a line 5 NM east of the OCK–MID–BOGNA track, and south of the 08L/08R extended centreline. After descent has commenced, aircraft must stay east of this line until below 5000 ft. |
Abreviated Release at GWC/TELTU
With this release, traffic may be vectored after GWC/TELTU, but must remain east of the GWC-MID or TELTU-MID track. Traiffc is RFD to the base of CAS, and may enter area 5 above 5000ft; however, it shall not enter area 4 above 4000ft. Once traffic has entered the RMA, it must be vectored in accordance to the normal restrictions.
TCSE will transfer KK inbounds at MSL+1, or the next available level. Traffic at or above FL120 will be retained by TC.
Traffic is RFD to MSL on transfer of communication.
Traffic is RFD below MSL once west of the X-Y-Z line. Traffic must not cross to the east of the X-Y-Z line without coordination with TCSE.
Traffic at and above MSL may be vectored within the confines of the MVA and extended area bounded by the 30 NM range ring.
